I'm surprised you haven't already received any replies to your question.
Are you using the regular red 2212 motors or the newer self tightening motor/prop combos?
As I understand it you say that when you installed the replacement motor it is spinning in the opposite direction to the one you want. If you are using one of the regular red 2212 motors you simply need to swap around two of the three motor connections into the ESC to enable the motor to reverse rotation.
The motor spins by receiving three separate pulses, hence the three wires going into the motor, from the ESC. These pulses are separated in phase/time. By swapping two of the three motor connections from the ESC you are changing the order in which the pulses are sent to the motor and subsequently reversing the rotation of the motor.
If you are using the newer self tightening props it's unfortunately not as simple as the thread on the motor shaft is specific to the rotation of the prop, swapping the rotation of the motor will only result in very bad things happening as instead of the prop pulling into the air it will now be pushing into the ground.
