I just received my inpire. I contacted my reseller since I did not see any prop locks in my box.
this is what they had to say:

"the unit you have is a second release that does not require prop locks. You can confirmed that by contacting **** at DJI, 818.235.0789 option 3, then option 5. DJI will also confirm that what you received is new by the serial numbers. If you fell more secure with the prop locks I can send a set no charge. "
Can someone confirm this? This sound like BS to me.

I receive all the service bulletins and I don't remember seeing this.  I have emailed DJI LA for their response.  It would be nice to know where he got that and when.

I received the same response from my vendor, and have seen one other reference on the forum, but no objective evidence. I did notice that  the props don't spin on/off easily.

I am testing the E800 prop lock system which works like a child or adult proof medicine bottle top.  Push down and 1/8th of a turn on and the same to remove.  It is my understanding that this will be the final solution either as a user installed accessory or a factory replacement.  That part is not clear right now.  I am making no promises on the part of DJI do don't go out and say that Tahoe Ed says......  Not true.  We have to wait for the full test and then see what DJI decides to do.

If you are currently getting Inspires then they should be including the prop locks. Anyone that says otherwise is mis-informed.

I think its BS. Mine literally has a build date of Feb 1st and a ship date of Feb 2nd and arrive through calgary on the 6th and on to my residence this morning. And it came with the prop locks int he box.  So unless you got yours AFTER those dates, I don't see how your supplier can be correct? No matter what, keep that communication in case something goes wrong so your supplier is on the spot for replacement (in the very least)

Ed, so essentially a craft that passed QA in Jan 20 is the same the one that passed AQ Feb 08 etc. With the exception that some of the most recent boxes come w the prop locks?

Agreed .... not much effort to put them on and for the peace of mind it is definitely the way to go.

Do these motors stop and reverse direction? What causes them to come unscrewed? I heard it was due to people not properly tightening them on all the way cause the motors turn so easy. I hold the motor when tightening mine and haven't had an issue yet. They are always still tight when im done flying.

The 13" props on the Inspires are larger and heavier than the Phantom's.  In aggressive flying situations when the Inspire's motor slow or stop abruptly, it's possible that the heavy props will keep on spinning simply due to inertia.  As a result, the props can potentially unscrew themselves.  This has never happened to me, but with the thousands of Inspires produced, Murphy's Law says prop spin off is bound to happen.  Prop locks are cheap and easy safeguards against loose props, either by not properly tightening the props or some kind of manufacturing defects on the propeller thread.

I got my Inspire from B&H 9 days ago and it too came without the prop locks. I contacted B&H and they agreed that the locks should have been in the box. They advised me not to fly until I had them and sent them to me.
