Which do you prefer? Worth waiting for?

Hoping the BT-300 will be compatible with the P4P+

IMO, the BT-300 is better because it doesn't block your VLOS. But both are still not be sold publicly. So I think we have to wait a really long long long time before they come out.

Interesting in that those promo shots show a completely different app than the DJI Go App.

On the pre-order the Epson is $799. I believe that is the most expensive one out there.

I have the Epsons on pre-order in the UK. The DJI Goggle, AFAIK, are only "Ocusync" for the Mavic Pro at the moment - or are there now two models?

The Epsons are supposed to go on sale to pre-order customers in December but no shipping date.

That Epson web site says their glasses are the "most affordable smart eyewear on the market".

I did a quick search and couldn't find a more expensive pair of VR glasses.  And the Epson glasses are not yet "on the market".

5M pixel, 720p, for $800?

I have all sorts of ideas for how to use these - but not at that price.

I ordered these in pre-launch and was emailed Sunday night that my payment had been received. According to Epson, they will start shipping within 2 weeks.

Epson is shipping their "Developers Edition" in mid Dec but these are not those specifically for drone use. The drone version will ship in mid January and now include some extra things which the Dec release version does not have.

Thanks for the clarification! The drone version comes pre-loaded with the DJI software but the cost is the same. Also, I've been emailing back and forth with someone at Epson who is on the Moverio team and he said they come with 2 pairs of shades - light and dark. If you have any other questions, let me know and I'll pass them on.

Did they say why the drone version delayed until January vs getting them in December?

Epson's response - "It is going to take a bit longer to get the drone edition packaged and ready to ship."

I canceled my order after reading 2 reliable reviews about how the video lag is unbearable:

I have a pair of the BT-300s and have had them for about a month (UK pre-orders started shipping the week after Xmas). The video lag talked about is an annoying bug but restarting the app fixes it most of the time - I did do a full factory reset the first time it happened. The unit is very well made but has some issues - while less than 100g it is still heavy on the nose and there are no options for the nose support adjustment.

I have a problem with the "tap-to-mute" function (after enabling it in the undocumented menus) and Epson UK are struggling to spin me a good story or offer a replacement after a month. I am keeping my options around returning them open as, luckily, we have consumer protection laws over here ;)
Edit: Ha, literally as I pressed save I got a mail from Epson UK:

In response to your email, I can confirm that this has been escalated up and we can confirm that  this is not a fault with the unit, due to the feedback provided we have escalated this further.
There is the potential we may realise an update where the sensitivity of the tap may be adjusted via the on-board menu, but there is no current timescale of this as of yet.

I can see how you can maintain LOS with the Epson BT-300 but not with the DJI pair. AFAIK that would exclude them from being used in a lot of places by most operators.

Just a questions, will the Epson BT-300 do the headtracking and turn my camera gimble like DJI Goggles?

FYI, thats just DJI's SDK limitation to kill other goggles that are not made from DJI, sad & embarassing... Talked to the Litchi guys...

I was comparing these right before the DJI goggles came out. I ended up going with the Glyphs. My main concern was the distraction by having the Mavic image superimposed. Maybe it's not an issue IDK.

They work great on the I2.  Best LOS solution to date.  Pleasure not having to look down and losing sight of the bird.  The app works decent.  Get the accessory that turns them into goggles with the reflective shades you can look directly into the sun and still see the bird and HUD simultaneously.  absolutely no lag for me even over 2 miles away.  No head tracking but a lot of people turn that feature off on the DJI goggles.  You don't need a spotter with the BT-300 either.  DJI is getting $ from Epson to support the drone version so the app will stay current.
