Isn't video supposed to save to the camera roll as well? Or am I confused? I thought it was supposed to save to the memory card on board as well as on the phone.

Also, when I have the Mavic on to get files off or change settings, why is it overheating as blasting the fan? It drains the battery pretty fast just sitting there on the desk.

There's a fair amount of compute power on board...  Just because the fans kicks on, doesn't mean it's overheating.

Even just sitting there not doing anything it'll kick on. Seems odd to me.

This is normal. Lots of processing cores in a small space inside the Mavic need cooling, even when idling.
