So was wondering if anyone can explain this, when in obstacle avidance mode everything seems fine with the speed, but once it detects something and avoids it, the aircraft becomes amazly slow for some period of time.

Aftershock... it's been proven after when someone gets shocked, they are a bit slow, I believe the Mavic has the same.
