What is the button on the bottom of my camera for?

Press and hold quickly to take a photo, hold for over 2 seconds to start video.
Its just a manual way to start recording if you don't have the app running, or take a photo while flying if you have really long arms....

Which Phantom 2 model do you have?

Just the 2 with the white plastic camera.

Are you sure it's the Vision with the round white camera and not the Vision Plus with the silver camera? The latter has a button underneath the gimbal portion of the camera to take manual video or stills. There is only a camera off/ on switch on the Vision camera.

It's the Vision with the round white camera. And is in very good shape.
