Can one of the moderators on here tell me why my name has been changed?

ive got the same issue.... that's not my username either??? I though I was the only one this has happened to?

All the names got changed a few weeks back when they updated something on the forum. You can change it back to whatever you had previously

Can't answer why, but it's pretty easy to change. Just go to Personal Homepage (top right), then settings and Set Username.

Its to protect the user aparently ... if you're username was too similar to account name/email it was changed to fansXXXXXXXXXXX

Just make your username something else in your settings page.

Info is in a sticky above - "Forum Rules & Regulations"

VII: Usernames and Avatars

• Offensive or infalmmatory usernames or avatars will not be allowed
• If you never set a user name since registration, your user name will be displayed as "fans + random number" now
• If  you set a user name, but the user name is the same as your  forum-registered email's pre-fix, (for examplle, you set your user name  as Jone_Doe while your email is Jone_Doe@website.com), your user name will also be changed to "fans + random number".
• You can change your user name in your personal homepage settings.
• Avatars that may be confused with public characters are not allowed.
• Animated avatars are not allowed.
• Use of the DJI logo in avatars is not allowed.
  

I think everybody having same username as the identifier-part of their email, a little while back got their username changed because of reports of mail-spam(*) or fishing(?). Or maybe it was only changed if the email was also on popular email-domain/services like gmail, hotmail,yahoo, etc.

My username was not changed, but that is also different than the identifier-part of my email.

(*)From spammers guessing people's email-addreses from their username on this forum.

Add a -  after it, that's what I did.
