Otherwise set go home high enough and to go home when signal is lost and fly away until you get a weak signal. Then look to see how far it is.

If you have the Standard, the distance traveled will be much less than the Phantom 3 Advanced/Professional models.

The reason for that is the LightBridge system in the better models, opposed to flying with the Standard model.

You can set the elevation to 500m and leave the maximum distance blank. How far you can fly depends largely on your location, and whether there are any obstructions, like a strong Wifi signal in the areas.

If you keep the drone at a good height where LOS is clear, to the RC, then you can go much farther. YMMV
