why cant i see the update banner in the app when there is new firmware and its says firmware version n/a??and how can i see what firmware the drone is using without the app??

Could you please clarify which Phantom model you have?
Please try to reinstall the app and re-link RC with aircraft.Since reinstall the app will remove the flight records, I'd suggest you to sync your flight records before reinstall the app.

i have a phantom 3 standard i have tryed to reinstall the app but still the same

Please try to change another mobile device to link with your RC.
And re-link RC with aircraft again.

If convenient, please try to reset your device to factory then install the app again.
Or you could borrow your friend's mobile device to test.
