So I called State Farm Insurance today and they said they can insure my Mavic for personal use.

$60.00 per year full replacement cost and Zero deductible , thats hard to beat !

Just though i would share with you all.

only thing it does not cover is mechanical failures. and from what i have read, you do not need a existing policy with them.

So if you have a mechanical failure, throw it on the ground and say you crashed it
or it flew away and you don't know where it is !

Got mine. But it was $75. Still worth the money

How much does State Farm charge  for liability if it lands on top of someone's car or head?

just got my claim check in the mail today.
Story:
Crashed my drone
sent in for repair
made a claim with state farm.
Claim handler called me to ask what happen and i explained i crashed the drone.
they sent me a check for $1000 and didnt ask for any flight data etc.
was paying $40 a year for about $4,000 in equipment coverage.

Im guessing my rates will go up from here but that was a ridiculous easy claim for me to do.

Did you already have other forms of insurance with State Farm? I hardly doubt given that I don't currently use State Farm that they are going to insure just my drone/me for this fee per year without having something like auto/home insurance with them.

I just checked and they will provide it.  State Farm has a MIN charge of 60 bucks.  For this policy its 2.25 for every 100... which is 22.50 but the total is 60 because of the minimum charge.  I don't have insurance with them currently.  
Note though that it isn't a liability insurance. That would be covered under your homeowners.

Does anyone know if that's a per drone policy? If you had 2 drones would it then be $120?

I just purchases a State Farm policy (I do not use them for my homeowners).  I paid 30 for the whole year, full replacement up to 1000!  Sweet!

They did insure JUST my drone!  I use a different insurance company for my homeowners!  I paid 30/year!  

Just confirmed with my State Farm agent. Even though I purchased a DJI Refresh program, I'm DEFINITELY, getting the coverage through my insurance. Note: my agent at first did not know about this, she kind of quickly told me no. But she confirmed with her underwriter that they do offer this type of coverage. I guess I was the first to inquire about it. Thanks OP for posting this!

You sure about that?  My agent said it was a 60 dollar minimum for a policy.

I just called my local state farm agent, and they will NOT cover drones in California.

I remember when this was talked about in previous threads and a bunch of people chimed in. The price was different depending on your state, some had it at $75, $60, $30

The agent called their underwriter's department, and they said it is not offered in California.

My State Farm agent called me today to finalize my insurance $ 39.00 year Zero deductible !

For those having issues, ask for a Personal Articles Policy.  You can cover stuff from jewerly to camera gear to firearms.  There isn't a specific spot for drones but mine is under the Miscellaneous Articles section.

yes i have everything with statefarm
Home owners insurance
2 cars
and the personal article insurance for all my camera/ drone equipment.

I contacted 3-4 agents where I live. None of them really acted like they knew much about it. And each one of them gave me different quotes. I settled on $75 a year with no delectable. Like you i also have refresh....Which im using now. But this was just to good to pass up. Im sure Ill drop it in the water at some point.

Only some agents have the minimum of $60...  Mine was $36 for $1,300 coverage.

Ya, I checked again. They said specifically that drones are not covered under personal article insurance in California. They did confirm that it is covered in other states though.

State Farm - I live in IL - $60 minimum, it was $20 to insure my Mavic @ $1085.  I just emailed my agent (I have auto and renters with SF) about adding a Personal Articles Policy with my receipt, they had a declaration page over to me via email by end of day.  

AllState does not offer a policy I just checked.

It's actually 2.25 per 100 dollars.  60 is the minimum in my state but I guess it varies.

I have Erie insurance and my drone is covered under my homeowner's policy.  No extra charge.  Fully covered.
