Even before the Mavic was out, people were looking at how to swap in a tablet, rather than a smartphone.  I've looked at a few videos on people who've managed to get their tablets to fit without an aftermarket solution.  I've had a stab and have decided to go the aftermarket route, but haven't seen any recommendations from people who've trialled them.  I'm hoping to find a single order solution (rather than ordering a mounting shoe, then placing another order for the DJI Mobile Device Holder).  Has anyone come across a solution that seems both well designed and manufactured?  Examples I've seen recently include....

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Hensych-Monitor-Mounting-Bracket-Control/dp/B01MXQF5CZ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1481574748&sr=8-2&keywords=dji+mavic+pro+tablet+bracket

They all look pretty much the same, but the devil's in the details with things like this and  I'm interested in hearing from people who've bought and used them.

Anyone?

I ordered the ETSY one as well, should receive it this week. I like how you still have access to the screen on the RC.

I got this one from a guy in Massachusetts, I like it because it doesn't obscure the RC from view.

Thanks for the finds OP. I say the Henych (?) one before on Amazon UK but wasn't impressed - the plastic ball joints have failed me on similar products (bike/camera mounts) while the first one looks much better (in pictures). Ordered.

I think I was the first to post [the Mavic Tricks - The Controller] video.  The issue is that I've not been able to get my iPad mini to fit securely.  There's another video by @Jakes () where he's managed without too much trouble to squeeze his iPad Mini into the holder.  For some reason it doesn't work with mine. I've tried and if I push it further into the notch, it approaches the point of snapping.  Maybe within the manufacturing tolerances, mine's on the tight side.  That's why.

Thanks for the feedback, Peter. Could you let me know how you get on with the other one?  One reason I want to use the tablet is that things far in the distance are just too small on the little phone screen.  I tried to fly to an old monument the other day,  but realised after awhile that I was focused on another structure altogether.  A bit bigger image will make all the difference!

I have the 8-10 inch model from this guy (DirtyJDesigns) which I'm using with an IPad Air.  I've had it out the last two days and I'm quite happy with it.  The display on the controller is obscured a little depending on how you have it tipped, but since the data is displayed on your tablet anyway it's a non-issue.

I've gone ahead and ordered this one and will report back on what I find.  I liked the fact that it allows a lanyard connection, includes metal parts and has a price point that's very reasonable (read: if I got it wrong and ordered a lousy option, at least I've not spent too much).  I've been marvelling at the mavmount, but the price is just too steep, for me anyway.

So, my tablet mount arrived today.  I took it out today, but sadly after I set up Iwith my iPad mini (including a sun shade – no issues), the winds picked up and were too high for safe flying, so I had to repack.
Still, it was enough to get a first impression.
The clamp has an internal, spring mount, which seems okay. As I can't see the spring, not sure how robust it is and how long it'll likely last.
I was able to put in both my iPad mini and the larger iPad Air 2.  I did notice that the extra weight of the larger iPad led the screen to forward, so I tightened the joining bolt a couple times with the hex key (provided).  It felt as though I could break things if I tightened them too much more, which is why I opted for the mini, when I went out flying.
It appears to be 3d printed (rather than molded).

Bottom line, is that It's nothing fancy but methinks, likely to be good enough for my needs.

Hey sorry to dredge up this post - have you had any signal issues with the tablet mounted directly over the antennas?

I actually mount mine upside down, so the iPad can rest on my forearms when using, and I can still clearly see the Controller display.
The PGY Tech holder works well, and seems solid.

This one is the best imho.
I have it too and sold the one 3d printed i had previously. Using it with iPad Pro 9.7.
I like its portability (small size when packed and small weight)
I would only appreciate if the screw from the back side could be removable. Cheers..

That way the slider mechanism holding the iPad in also faces down, so you can go larger, and still not obstruct the screen.

Hi OP.
That first one in the Amazon link with the red clamp is absolute useless and garbage, it’s all plastic and the tightening bolt is weak as hell and snaps, it did it to me, however though, there is this one that I have found on Amazon and it is brilliant,

It is a Freewell, it is made out metal and plastic for the clamp, I’ve uploaded some pics so that you can see it.

[img]https://forum33.djicdn.com/data/attachment/forum/202107/06/033850kk2u7pp0fm1mrrrp.jpeg[/img

As you can see, it is well made and can easily fit my iPad 5th generation easily with a good grip on the clamp.
