Do you think useful the simulator?
Don't it's look like a gadget?

Sure the onboard flight SIM can be and is useful. If you want to try out certain flight functions, or practice flying under specific conditions, it's very useful. It is limiting, in that you are only able to fly out a specific distance befor losing sight of your drone, all though in real life flight that holds true too, but we then have map and camera view to help guide us. For simple basic flight practice, it can be adequate. If you need or want something more substantial, please have a look towards a serious flight SIM such as RealFlight/Drone,  the one I bought a few months ago, http://www.realflight.com/produc ... p?moreinfo=features  or their newest version RealFlight X which was released most recently in the past couple of months, and has very awesome detailed graphics. It might take a more powerful computer than many people presently have today, so if looking towards that version, check the basic requirements for your home computer, to be sure it can actually play the software program, sufficiently well.
Phoenix is another flight SIM that is decent, and quite popular, which many prefer over RealFlight.  http://www.phoenix-sim.com
YouTube has many videos of them all, so it's easy to see what you might be getting into, without making an actual purchase. Most reputable hobby shops have a computer with complementary flight SIM use. Available to anyone who walks in the front door. ;-)

Hope that helps give you a bit more info... ;-)

Having never flown any r/c models or drones before , I found that the simulator gave me a feel for the controls and return to home function ,I spent about an hour in total on there before flying my P3S , it's definitely worth using

The onboard SIM must most obviously have the drone turned on, preferably and strongly advised with all four props removed, for safety reasons. While its playing the SIM is a nice way to drain intelligent battery packs voltage if you are deep cycling your packs, that's an easy way to do it. I liked the idea of having voltage available 'Right' on the top corner of the screen, mix you have that feature turned on. Run the SIM and drain the battery to the 8% level which was recommended. The battery page of the Go app is awesome. It counts the number of charges so it's easy to know when they have had 10 full charges, to delete them. These drones can warm up pretty good when just sitting parked while turned on &idol. I place mine on a fan that keeps it much cooler, and prevent a majority of that internal heat build up and gimbal running too. Although, the Phantom 3 Pro has a fan in the gimbal, it still heats up while sitting without the normal cool air passing through and around it like while in flight.

One other "golden" reason that your SIM could or should be useful is with the inclement weather associated with the majority of North America this winter. Stay home and SIM, when you can't get outside to fly your Phantom. ;-)

I've used the Android version of the sim on a few occasions, yes it mostly works fine but the braking action while changing speed or directions is like 5% giving the impression that I'm rollerskating on ice. Is this due to wifi lag? I expected more realism in how the virtual aircraft responds to stick commands.
There are not even simple geographical objects on the flat field to relate to except the yellow square home point.
I see hills and clouds in YT videos of the sim that give some impression of where over this field you are flying. Is this because the Android version is stripped of GFX features that only the iOS versions have?
