This thing is pretty sweet, it's light, rotates in all directions and as you can see in the pics it can expand.

However, I don't have a tablet to test on yet. I do have an Nvidia K1 tablet on order arriving next week, so we'll see how it goes.
Ordered it on ebay, took 3+ weeks to arrive from China

how far down does the mount slide.....in your picture, it looks like it will block your view of the screen on the remote control...

Hard to tell from the pictures, but is the bottom USB port blocked off?

To answer some questions...

The bottom USB port on the Mavic controller is NOT blocked. There's plenty of clearance.

The mount swivels, so you can still see the controller screen, assuming your tablet isn't enormous.

Also, one side of the tablet holder has a hole to plug the USB cable into your tablet

Yes I read the post, but I'd still like to see the pictures when available. I'll wait, I'm used to waiting, I'm still waiting for my Mavic.

I like the idea but it definitely says 'I'm flying a drone'  The controller with just a smartphone installed is far less obvious.  Could do with some focus peak or focus magnifier in the app.  Or better still, DSLR like control of exposure/focus on the controller so it would be much more easy to use VR goggles with the Mavic.  But then of course that screams 'I'm flying a drone'.

ummm.. the drone taking off next to you says "I'm flying a drone" lol.. so I don't see that as an issue. Unless you're flying in a sketchy/illegal area?
If not, I would stand your ground. If you're legal, you should stand up to anyone challenging you.

Yeah I referring more to mid flight when the drone is in the sky.  And no, I didn't mean illegal places to fly.  If people walk past you when you are holding the Mavic controller with a smartphone, they don't assume you are flying a drone.  It just gathers less attention.

Received the tablet. Here are my impressions of the tablet holder....

It's sturdy, and holds very nicely. The grip holds the tablet nice and tight and the swivel motion is really useful for getting the angle just right to see both screens. The only problem I had was the bottom swivel, that can swing the tablet from side to side. Even fully tightened the tablet could move left and right without touching it. Easy fix though, you can open the grip.. in which I placed a piece of double sided tape and now there's a lot more friction. Perfect!

The tablet itself is an incredible bang for your buck (Nvidia Shield Tablet K1). I got it for $130 (using a gift card). Works with DJI Go4 perfectly, and I use the hdmi out to use with my fatshark goggles. The only downside to the tablet is the screen brightness which is average. For my purpose though, it's perfect.

I have two different mounts types which I use with an ipad air.  I picked up the large mavmount for the Ipad;  it's well constructed and the large will even support an 12.7" Ipad pro.  The mavmounts are pretty configurable having two ways to connect the tablet holder to the vertical mount.  Another neat thing about the mavmounts is they're balanced so they can stand up unaided.

Funny thing is, when DJI made their Mavic case, it's apparent they had NO idea of all of the accessories and additions many mavic flyers purchase. :-) I suspect we will start to see quite a few "New condition, barely used" DJI Mavic cases on ebay in the coming weeks/months

yeah, getting the add-on tablet holders into a box is a pain.  I've got all my stuff fit into a pelican 1520 and getting the holder to fit in without wasting too much space was a royal PITA.  Conceptually the pick and pluck foam seems good, but in execution, not so much.  Incidentally, the 1520 is hit or miss as carry-on for some airlines, though I think the 1500 is good.  Debating downsizing but I'll worry about that next time I fly.
Space for oddly sized add-ons will be a problem with all the pre-molded foam inserts out there.
