Yes, there is a slot in the side of the actual camera where the SD card goes. If it is new, then there should be a Micro SD card in there.

The SD card slot should be atop the camera. You need to remove the Gimbal stabilizer to see it. As Geebax commented, the Phantom 3 Standard comes with the micro SD card already installed in the card slot.

As the others said, it's on the top of the camera.
You found it correct?

I just tried to replace the supplied 8 gig card with a 16 gig, and got a message that it was an invalid card. Do you think I got a bad card, or is this just too big? I thought I had read that the phantom would accept up to a 64 gig card.

You can only use a 64GB SD card in the other Phantoms, You can try another 16GB SD card but a 8GB is what's recommended.

What kind of SD card did you try to replace the stock one with?

I think it was a PNY 16 GB card.

I bought a 32Gb card, and it seems to be working fine in my P3S. I've had some other people on here, though, that have said their Phantoms had problems with the larger capacity cards.

I think it was a PNY 16 GB card.

Did you ensure that it was a class 10 card and not a class 4? The minimum requirement is a class 10. Not all brands perform the same, try using a higher quality ScanDisk or a Lexar SD card and see if there are any changes.

Doesn't he have to format the card first before trying to use it?
