Doesn't attaching anything extra to your drone void its warranty?

Did you mean that if I attach any thing on the drone it stops my warranty? I think no. I don't open it, don't damage device and don't anything forbidden by manual. At least they can't see it))

Yeah, I'm pretty certain I read somewhere that if you attach anything extra (increase its weight) then it'll void the warranty because that could become a factor in it crashing. I could be wrong though.

DJI are not that stupid. Adding a tracker is not considered modifying the aircraft, especially the way the OP has done it.

If it were true, Then that rule would be a Major buzz kill, for us Lume Cube adopters.

The weight of them small, useful tracking devices, has become nearly mandatory, for many new unpracticed drone pilots.

Ah, my warranty was null and void months ago. Besides, I have a perfect Phantom 3 Pro, completely trouble free.

GPS is very light like a box of matches. So I think it is absolutely not hard for drone.

Today I tried to fly with tracker and couldn't. Writed about magnetic interference. Then I remembered that compass antennas are in legs of drone. So when tracker is near of legs drone feel magnetic fields.
Will try to put it on other place.

Model RF-V16 bought at AliExpress. Track will show later because I couldn't fly with tracker yet because in front part of legs are compass antennas and tracker makes magnetic interference. So I move tracker to rear part of legs and will try to fly a bit later

What is the cost for  satellite service?  Or does it work off of Cellphone towers only?

The device does not use satellite communication, it simply receives GPS signals then communicates the location to you via a cellphone account.

Just been looking at these and you can buy proper mounts for phantom 3 on ebay from HK for about £5.
Screwed on at top of legs.

i dont understand how it works: the tracker records the flight, but if you loose the drone you loose the tracker. it wont ping the position back. so why use it in the first place?

Tracker has GSM module and in if you will loose connection with RC you won't be able to see last position of drone... So you can open the tracker application and check it's GPS coordinates of tracker sended by GSM module

What will you do if you will loose RC connection? Where you will find your drone if GO app was disconnected? So people use tracker to be ready to any incidents...

The tracker combines a GPS receiver and cell phone in one single device. If you lose the aircraft, even if it has no battery power, the tracker will continue working for some days after. It wakes up every now and then and measures the GPS coordinates and if you open the tracker's app on your phone, it will show you where it is located on a map.

I'm using trackimo's gps tracker and I have no issues in concealing it or mounting onto my drone. Plus it's very light that it has no effect on my drone's flight.
