Hello, I just saw this on DJI official Chinese forum:  http://bbs.dji.com/thread-97924-1-1.html
They came out a new polity for DJI care refresh, all water damages gonna be also covered. So existed to fly on lakes or beach.

Just wondering if the same policy apply to North America region (Canada) as well?

yes, dji care refresh now covers water damage. Retrieving said drone that goes for a swim is now the issue at hand lol.

If you ever lose it over an ocean or bay, just remember there are always local fisherman, or boat owners willing to make an extra buck $$$ to retrieve your drone.

Here's my question.. does the Mavic float.. or sink?

If it sinks, it might be worth buying a little foam cutout to attach so it doesn't sink, if you're flying over a lot of water.

Foam is a good idea! I believe a DIY / 3rd party floating device gonna come out soon.

I have had my Mavic for less than a week but didn't purchase DJI Care Refresh because it didn't cover water damage.

I'm not happy at all as I would have purchased it had DJI been covering this a week ago.

Will there be any plan to give more than the 48 hours post activation now that the plan has changed so significantly? I would like to purchase it now that it has it.

you can still buy it and activate it after 48 hours - as long as the mavic is still working.

Feel your pain, but it was still worth it without the water damage ... I bought it and i'm glad i did. The only thing it doesnt cover is FlyAway, but that shouldnt happen, i guess :0

I'm sure i've heard of someone pleading to get care refresh added after the initial 48hrs, so it might be worth a PM to DJI-Ken/DJI-Mindy

I'm not sure, but I think he's saying you can buy the Care Refresh now, but it won't take effect for 48 hours. If so that is a good thing.
