I flew my first time today. Phantom 4 Pro brand new. Updated the drone firmware before flight, charged all batteries... Checked if remote needs firmware, aparently only firmware for Pro+ is available... Still, when to take off, it complais, that remote controller updates are required. I almost went nuts. So how do I update Pro remote firmware, and where do I get it from?

Make sure you have wireless connection.
From the front screen,
1. hit the gear.
2. System Settings
3. Scroll down
4. About Device
5. System Updates.

After I did this, I am now on V01.01.01.01

I dont have System Settings as it is not a Pro+ controller. It's a Pro working with my phone for now.

I connected the drone itself to assistant and it updated the firmware. But the controller is what I am talking about. Not the drone. The Pro (no built-in display) controller.

The latest firmware for P4P remote should be V1.3.0.0. We can upgrade the remote firmware through DJI GO 4:

Using the little white USB to micro USB adapter and another regular USB to micro USB connector plugging them together. White end into drone near micro SD card slot. Other end into your controller micro USB slot. Power up your smart device which must have a cellular or wifi connection to the internet. Connect your smart device (phone or tablet) to your controller. Power up the controller and if it does not boot the DJI Go 4 app boot the app next. When they are up and ready boot the drone and follow the prompts. This took me half a dozen attempts because the prompt was not showing up after the page with the notes and images of how to connect the controller to the drone. Hope this helps. Also search it on YouTube for videos on instruction. Peace...

I spent quite a bit of time trying to figure out why my Phantom 4 remote controller was not connecting to the aircraft. I just got it back from DJI repair - they had to replace the failing battery. Well, it turns out I needed to re-link the aircraft to the remote controller. Trying to find information on this subject was equally tough. But here's the kicker.... If you have to re link your remote to your Phantom 4 and can't find the link button - it's the led light between the SD port and the micro usb. You have to use a paper clip to depress the button, which will then allow you to re link your remote. Hopefully this helps someone else that runs into the same problem. Also, be sure you are using the DJI GO 4 app and not the DJI GO.
