Hello, I got this situation last night as the pic shown. GPS mode (Signal =17) suddenly switched to Atti mode after 4 mins normal fly with my Mavic. Forced it to land with huge drafting. I may lose it if I fly it far or crash it. User error? I don't think so. The pic can tell the true story at that moment. Any one else had this before?

Hmm that's weird it's red. It should switch from gps to opti when less than 8 sats.

I've seen this mentioned in other threads as well.  Usually there is some "blame" that the GPS signal was poor or something but I don't know that I've seen any real explanations or solutions.  It is a bit concerning.

Are you running the latest firmware? There was a recent fix in the latest firmware which supposedly solved this problem.

I've had the exact same problem. The drone had 16 satellites and then a lot of sudden went into atti mode and started drifting. It did this twice despite no interference warnings or compass warnings.

Looks like interference od firmware issue, did you try to update FW or hard restart the RC?

Opti mode will only work at certain height from the ground. Forgot what's the range like for the sensor but definitely not more than 50 ft height.

21 satellites connected? I think I read somewhere that the chipset is capable of getting max 20 connections. Maybe the information displayed in the app is wrong.

Maybe I was wrong about the 20 connections or it is a bug in the app. Cannot find where I read about this... 19 is the max number I have seen.

Everyone gets hung up or has a security blanket on the number of sats being displayed - this is meaningless and DJI only reintroduced the useless number display after people bleated on about it being taken away from the Go App a while back.

Whats important is the HDOP/VDOP (Horizontal/Vertical dilution of precision) which is indicated by the bargraph display next to the meaningless number.

As has been pointed out, your Mavic may well be able to 'see' 20 satellites but if the dilution of precision is high that number is useless - hence drop into Atti

Experienced once, the day before yesterday. It didn't had any consequences for the flight. After approximately 10 seconds it went back to GPS

flied around 20 times in total, got into this ATTI mode  twice. 10% chance to lose GPS, xx% chance to crash...

Yup.  This is at least the fourth live thread with people raising this. Mine happened a couple days ago, when I went into ATTI mode from stable connection to 19 satellites and solid 5 bars of signal in a rural area (i.e. No obvious sources of interference) and had to force it down to avoid a fly away. On one of the threads (http://forum.dji.com/thread-73707-3-1.html)  there were numerous users trying to nut out what possible causes might have been, but as there was no input from DJI, I PM'd DJI-Ken, asking for a view from the company. He PM'd back that the matter was thought to have been resolved through firmware version v.01.03.0000.
I'm running the version after that, as I believe are many others raising this. In this instance, his recommendation is to get in touch with Support. Feels like there's a bug that got away before a firmware fix could squash it.

Or its a problem that firmware cant fix and it would involve a costly recall

Got this once... and it drifts a lot

after 15 sec it went back to GPS mode..

I trace my flight, and my GPS counted from 17 to 1..   when it went to Atti.
