Hi everyone.

So i was wondering if anyone could give me some advice or help?

I haven't even had my Mavic for a week and i'm noticing some concerning things in my footage with my drone.

I notice that the focus is really off or blurry on the right side of the image.

i'll be attaching some examples.

I have done all relevant calibrations needed and reset camera settings.

So here is a video from a flight I had at the beach yesterday, look at the right side as i ascend.


I wasn't pleased with what i saw so i switched the drone on in my living room and played around with the focus inside.
It focused perfectly fine. ??

What am I missing?

I'm running the DJI Go 4 app on iOS.

I've heard you can calibrate the lens on android?! Is this feature available on iOS somewhere?

So my question is? Is it faulty or am i doing something wrong?

Here is the link.

As far as i remember, i used tap to focus closest to infinity as possible so i could get the whole frame in focus.
When you see the original video it's in focus on the left but not on the right.

It's very erratic as i did a test round my garden yesterday and it all seemed pretty much in focus, i dont know if it's a problem with focus to distant objects

Since I was having some trouble downloading the videos.
Have you tried to tap the bottom right corner to focus?
Please make more test. And if still the same, I'd suggest you to get in touch with our tech support at support.eu@dji.com. They will be able to assist you.

I had this issue and it did not go away (clearly seen in the first clip). You will always notice it. RMA it and get it replaced.

I bought the drone from Maplins, do you think it's better going through DJI to RMA it?

Was your issue fixed?

If Maplins will exchange it then no reason not to do that (stock allowing) I sent mine back to DJI Netherlands and they replaced the whole thing, tested QA'd etc. The whole process took 8 days with shipping, it was only with DJI for 2 days. It is very quick. Make sure you contact DJI EU though.
EDIT: Yes the replacement seems perfect, well after the 10 minute video I pixel peeped at. Time will tell overall though lol

Update on this thread, been in contact with DJI Netherlands and they've booked a replacement case for me.
Will be getting a new one in about two weeks i reckon, it's been sent today.
Could not be bothered to send it back and forth with Maplins.
Straight to the manufacturer
12 days i had it for.

I have the same problem, been in contact with DJI tech support a few hours ago and they told me I had to get the dealer where I purchased it from to sort it out. (was London Camer Exchange by the way). I felt I have been fobbed off.

Obviously there is no consistency from DJI support!

I had the same issue too and it's very disappointing to read that these are still not being picked up by QA at DJI before being sent out and then causing log jams with supplies that are being diverted to RMA customers and not the waiting list.

London Camera Exchange guys came straight back to me and ran through the standard expected questions like is firmware up to date etc. They have a DJI product specialist guy who said the following -

"I actually had the same problem with the pre production sample unit and my early production model. I spoke to the tech and they said they were addressing this. After a firmware upgrade, probably about one or two to the current version, this was fixed and I have not seen it since on my Mavic.

I’d suggest checking through the DJI Assistant 2 software on a PC to see what firmware the Mavic is on and update if needed.

Like I said I’ve seen this issue on my own and no longer come across it.

Hope this helps"

They did then go on to say that if I was all up to date on softwares (which it is), then they would send it in for me.

I can't ask more than that can I? I don't want to be without it for ages again and have decided I will hang on
to it for another week or so and see if we do get another firmware update to cure the problem. If not it's going back.

Oh the joys of being an early adopter :~)
