I have been receiving some comments on the quality of my video from the Mavic. A lot of users have been saying the image is quite soft. I do always tap to focus.

To test this I shot a still and a video of the same frame. I have attached a still from the photo and the video below. As you can see the video is much more mushy, especially on the palm trees. I think the photo looks great though! So I am wondering.. Is this normal for the Mavic? Is the low video bitrate causing this image? Or is there something wrong with the video side of my Mavic?

My settings are:

2.7K
-1 0 0
D-Cinelike

Would love to hear your thoughts!

My guess is you have the same new focus issue a few of us have just noticed. Arrived with recent firmware.

I did firmware update that showed up this morning and seems to have fixed my issue (tested indoors) but won't know for sure till I fly again outdoors.

were your photos/videos not focusing properly on certain sides of the frame?

I'm currently having this issue and its annoying me so much..

Hoping it's just a firmware fix!!

Won't know till I can fly it outside. Seems to focus at different distances inside.  I think it was a Go app update that introduced the problem, not FW.

Had some issues as well.  But my fault.  Changed the props(this was a huge difference in 4k), cleaned the camera lens, stopped flying when its 30 or less, fly where antenaes are not blocked, and now no more focusing or mushy issues, no blurring, no wavy videos,  all fixed.

Hello, since the resolution is different. The image might be more clear than video.
It's normal. Please don't worry about it.

I notice a tower in the hills in the back in the photo, it seems to not show as clear, but the photo seems too sharp? look at the edge of the building where the brown meets white, video seems smoother...
