Anyone here had Motor Bearing failure yet? I think I have one going bad on mine. Don't know if I should send it in or just order the motor myself and install it.

I would say send it in, the phantom 4 is a relatively new drone, so warranty will not void if repaired by DJI...

Bend the spring tabs up a little under the prop. They sag and allow the prop to wobble on the mount as the motor spins past the magnets. The rattle sounds like bearings.

Yeah it's got the bearing rattle for sure. This was a refurb so I just hope the others hold up.

Well Dirtdroner I owe you a great big THANK YOU!!!  That cleared up the noise! It's smooth as butter now. I can't believe it. I'm glad that's all it was though.

Glad I could help. I now have two spare motors because I didn't find the answer until after I panicked {:4_177:}

Dirtdroner I had the same problem.  My 2 rear motors was doing the same thing, I thought it was the bearings also.  This fixed the problem, THANKS

It's beginning to be a pretty common issue as our birds are fairly near the same age. I see it asked quite a bit around the various forums. Seems a pinned post by DJI explaining it would help.

The new P4P uses a small coil spring instead of the leaf spring. I've not seen it available as a replacement part yet but I'm going to get some as soon as they are. One DJI dealer said everything else was the same so it should be a fairly inexpensive upgrade.
