I'm going to attempt to fly from Santa Ana River bed near Forest Falls and go UP to Morton's Peak Lookout, and elevation change of 3500'. I know I need to remain within the 400 ft AGL, and that's from the current altitude of the quad over it's current location. I sure hope I can go UP, and not be limited by the ALT maximum on the quad setup.

The goggles are great, but at times I lose concentration on surroundings, gotta watch for obstructions, and remember to keep a line-of-sight so signal loss won’t occur. I slammed into Mormon Rocks, but with the aid of the flight records program in DJI Go I was able to track it down in a crevasse. Checked out the following week, no malfunction on UAV.
I finally used the storage mode 3 battery charging hub for my phantom 4 battery. About 1 week later. I switch to storage mode to charging and only 1 out of my 3 batteries work?!?!?
Wish I lived down there. I’m brand new to the drone world. Got a Mavic Air, live in the central prairie belt of Canada. Gonna be in Carlsbad area for vacation later this summer. Would love to bring the drone and try capturing some ocean, beach, cliffs etc. Any beginner friendly spots to fly at?

Cajon Junction is my locale; flying DJI P3P4K w/Fat Shark Dominator V3 goggles; Fun chasing trains and checking out the San Andreas Fault rock formations. Usually fly, Sat at or near Sullivan's Curve/FS Road 3N47.
Have been flying drone in Cajon Pass for a few years now; my "Drone Bro" and I have created a secret launch pad in Cajon Junction (Sullivan's Curve), chasing trains going up and down the pass. We are now in the process of "developing" LZ-02, near Forest Service Road 3N45 and the junction of the tracks (old Route 66-1914). We are approximately 1 miles of Hill 582, which is reachable as well as I-15 north and south (Summit area).
