Hey Mike!
As always, it depends on what you need it for and personal taste ;-)
I can tell you my perspective why i didnt upgrade to Inspire 2:
From Inspire Raw: Yes if you
Want greater stability in flight in windy conditions; want to risk flying in tight confined environments, terrain hugging flight
My I1 is rock solid, if winds geht so strong that the Drone "banks" hefty to hold position i dont fly. For tight enivronment i use my P4P.
Terrain hugging i tried last summer on a huge lake area, no problem.
Want to make complex aircraft and camera moves with single operator with confidence (Spotlight Pro in particular)
For really great shots i always go second Operator, but if needed i use Autoflight which is really great.
Want greater crash protection
Hmm. I never had a crash in several years, even in really tight environments. only nice "add on" for me.
(gains in video quality accrue mainly from these two points - not so much IQ but the greate ease in achieving stability and complexity of shots)
Benefit from direct conversion to ProRes instead of having to convert from Raw
For HQ Production, i always use CameraRAW to develop the CinemaDNG, after that i convert to ProRes444 and edit in FCPX.
I simply love the Tools that CameraRAW gives me, never get used to those Color Wheels.
Benefit from greater flight time for each set of batteries.
I have 8 TB48, i really dont need more flighttime, especiallly in real estate i take the given shot, land, set up the equipment and software for the next "scene" and start again.
Additional Points:
- 90% of my Customers need 1080p, rarely 4K.
- I1 is really mature product, wich simply works, and thats what i need. No Time for helping DJI out solving bugs of I2, which will surely come.
- I simply dont need that extra speed that the I2 offers for my kind of Jobs.
- The only thing i might be missing is the Tripod Mode, which is really great on the P4P. But with the Gain Values on the I1 i can "simulate" them.
