Quick question. I am located in Colorado, U.S.I just registered my Mavic Pro Drone with the FAA, I think. I used the site www.onlinedroneregistration.com  does anyone know if this is a legit site?
I noticed there are multiple sites for drone registration, including the FAA. Trying to figure out whether I scammed, or, this was legit!
Cheers!

Little late to research where to register huh. I would have only registered through the FAA website: https://registermyuas.faa.gov .  I paid $5 for three years, according to the website you posted (the link is broken BTW), it say's it's $5/year, so in that case yes you did get scammed in that sense.

FYI, you register not the drone.  Once you register you get a number you use with all your drones.

Use the FAA site.

No, it was $27 for 6 years. Service charge, argh... one of many sites that provide the service.  Did grab some nice registration labels. Fixed the link in a subsequent post. Thx for the response!

Another thing, you also have to carry a copy of your registration,  not just the labels on the drone.  I downloaded it from the FAA site onto my phone via email which is a legal way to carry your registration on you.

As far as I can tell this process is only open to US citzens, so how would I go about registering when I travel to the Us on vacation later this year?

From the FAA FAQ part of their website: https://www.faa.gov/uas/faqs/

6. I'm a foreign national and want to fly my UAS in the U.S. on vacation. Do I have to register before flying?
If you are a foreign national and you are not eligible to register your sUAS in the United States there are two ways for you to operate. If you want to operate your UAS exclusively as model aircraft you must complete the steps in the web-based registration process and obtain a "recognition of ownership." This recognition of ownership is required by the Department of Transportation to operate a model aircraft in the United States. Alternatively, if you want to operate your UAS as a non-model aircraft you must register your UAS in the country in which you are eligible to register and obtain operating authority from the Department of Transportation.
NOTE: at this time, the FAA's online registration website can only be accessed from a computer located in the United States or its territories or possessions.

Is it still required to register your drone?  I thought they stopped that, and came out with new rules, as long as you fly below 400 ft.  In line of sight, and during dusk to dawn?  I thought registering was no longer required.

I'll check out the www.faa.gov site.
