Just curious. Anyone has ever dealt with police due to flying your drone?
Of course, ordinary people like us will avoid flying near air base or changi airport.
Last week I went to Marina Barrage to fly my Mavic Pro.
Hey there,
Yeah, last week I was at Marina South Pier to fly my Mavic Pro and 2 SPF officers strolled up to ask to see my drone footages. After that they said we are in a protected area, to which I responded this was not the case according to CAAS website's AREA LIMITS link. http://www.caas.gov.sg/caas/en/ANS/area-limits.html
What ensued was 40 minutes of time wasted for the officer to check back with her Investigating Officer for verification of this & that info. Ultimately I got tired of waiting, pulled out my laptop, logged into the CAAS website and showed her the MAP. Clearly Marina South Pier was demarcated Kite & Parasail area and not infringing on any Pink zones "Protected Areas".... Only then was matter resolved, case closed, no charges pressed etc and we parted amicably.
Lesson learnt - the onus is still on us Drone Flyers to stay on top of latest CAAS, Govt eGazette advisories and this one is also plenty helpful to know when ad hoc restrictions will come into force due to Events: http://www.caas.gov.sg/caasWeb20 ... 2017/news_0005.html NDP is coming up and we need to know dates to avoid flying.
