I have only flown this new drone about 12 times and maybe i am just missing something but from the first dozen floights i would have to say that
I really am unimpressed with the camera quality with the mavic even though the specs say that they are almost identical i have the phantom 3 4k pro since it came out.
i have not been able to match the quality of the phantom 3 pro with the mavic.
Night flying is not the same. I can barely see a thing on the phone screen. Its a little better when watching the sd card images.
Even when there was a little bit of light, with the phantom 3, I would be able to get a decent video and almost always be able to get a great shot by switching the ISO and/or the Shutter speed. On the Mavic Pro there is no way to manually switch the iso and shutter speed with the right trigger slider. on the phantom 3 you could press it in and it would switch between the ISO and the Shutter speed... which would allow you to quickly and safely get the right camera settings for whatever light conditions there might be.
is there an option to switch between those 2 settings like the phantom 3 does on the controller? or do i have to go let go of the controller with one hand to touch the screen and switch between ISO and Shutter Speed?
What about the same question for the focusing of the camera (in both video and photos)? do i have to let go of the controller and touch the screen every time i want to get a clear shot? (its ok in auto mode but kind of annoying that you have to constantly be touching the screen)
then in video mode the light seems to be pulsating - i thought this would be the case on the screen but it translated over to the sd card and looks ok but not anywhere near the phantom 3 videos i can get.
Yes the lights are automatically turning off during my shot.
Yes I am in manual Mode and switching to auto mode to see if that makes any difference.
Yes of course, there's a little better picture on the low light shots with the manual mode but nothing as good as the Phantom 3 (or 4 or inspire i would imagine).
- am I missing something?
- is the camera that much worse on the mavic?
- do i have a faulty camera on my mavic?
- any tips for commanding the camera to take better night shots? (besides the obvious "light needs to be off " suggestion)
sorry for long post but those were all my night flying questions and opinions wrapped up into one post. thanks for the future reply!
