Some one said on another post, but hasn’t come back to me to clarify yet, that if you swap out the tall middle ARGtec 5.8G RC aerial with this you get better range. Anyone else agree.

I have a flat panel 14dbi 5.8 coming to fit instead of my stick. Basically after updating to 1.8.10 FW - my range has dropped and I'm not happy.
Video is still there but control signal is failing ....
Would you mind me asking what one you have on order and where from as I am interested in the 14dbi bit, am I right in assuming the higher the dbi the better.

Hi Nigel any news on this because I was just about to order a 11dbi flat panel but you are getting a 14dbi. Is it just a matter of swapping the middle ARGtec aerial with this one by just screwing it in and do you think range will be better.
Features:
5.8G Channel(5600MHz~6000MHz) also fits 5G-6G
Dimension:60*27*22mm
Power SupplyC 6V-23V
Input Power:-3dBm to 27dBm
Net Weight:45g
RF Output Power:33dBm(2W)
TEST Gain:
3dB-6dB @ 5.60GHZ-5.75GHZ
5dB-8dB @ 5.75GHZ-5.85GHZ
3dB-7dB @ 5.85GHZ-6.00GHZ
But the booster is recc'd for only a 6dbi which is OK with Argtec antenna.
You will need also an adaptor to fit the booster ... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/262158 ... =STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
and a power supply. I intend to use a Life 2S pack which I can slip inside the controller case ... and booster will screw on between base and antenna.
