I am using a Phantom 3 STD with a Samsung Galaxy S6. flashed the new firmware to the app and the drone last week and since then I am not able to obtain a correct location. Flashing firmware had no interuptions and went 100% as expected, no problem during update process. My indicated position is about 1/2mile away from where I actually am while using the GO app. With google maps my position is accurate, only with GO app.
I am reluctant to fly at this point as my home point will be incorrect and in the event of a problem I will possibly encounter a fly-away.

I had no difficulty with 3.1.1 obtaining a correct position.

Please help.

taurus35, thanks for the links. I did actually search the forum prior to posting and saw some reports. I have not heard a solution or recommendation from DJI; figured  DJI may want to see how many users this was affecting and that the issue is not simply an aberration.  Thanks!

The only conclusion I have seen is that it seems to be affecting Android Go apps only (although not confirmed) & it's recommended that you turn off "Maximum Flight Distance" option.

Two solutions I can think of. #1 install an older version of the Go app. I went back to 3.0.1 so the Google maps worked. #2 Use the Litchi app, something I also use sometimes.

Is it easy to go back to 3.0.1 app ?

I stayed on 2.9.1 and never have issues. Even with the 1.8.1 firmware.
Open Google Play Store and in settings, uncheck the auto upgrade box.
On your device, go to settings/apps/Manage apps.
Stop then Uninstall the GO app and related data cache.
Reboot your device.
Do a search online for older GO app versions. Even Phantom Help has a few.
Download the 3.0.1.sdk to your device's downloads folder..
Run the .sdk. The 3.0.1 version will then install.
