Am I crazy or is the manual focus option gone???

I can't find it in any of the settings...  also at night even the tap to focus doesn't work.  I can't get anything to focus at night at all(video or photo)

You won't see it in the app until you are connected to the Mavic, then the toggle for auto/manual focus appears to the left of the AE Lock icon.

Auto focus requires a reasonable amount of light to work, in low light and especially at night you'll want to rely on manual focus.

It isn't there at least in the go 4 app

It is in my Go 4 app (iOS), but you won't see it unless you are connected to the Mavic.

I'm connected to the quad but i have android... but I also tried it with an iPad mini on the original Go app and it didn't have it either...

Look for a MF or a small box to the left of the AE Lock icon, tapping it will bring up another vertical slider which can be used to focus. There are differences in the aOS vs. iOS versions, but manual focus is available on both.

Maybe boostedford is right, that you have to first enable manual focus in camera settings? I can't remember if I had to do that or not.

No idea if manual focus is possible in the older Go app.

with your android phone and connect to the mavic.  In the display screen when connect select your camera setting icon on the bottom right of your phone display.  In there you have 3 choices, camera, recorder and setting.  Select setting icon and you will get a bunch of slide icon where it is just on and off.  In here you will see option to turn on manual focus and other option as well like turn off front red led light etc.  

Here's what it looks like on my iPhone when enabled -- tapping AF/MF toggles between the two focus modes.

I have gone through all the camera settings and it doesn't appear to give me that option.  Do you have a screen shot by chance?  thanks for your help I am getting so frustrated at not figuring it out

Just found it!  sorry guys  realized it is in the general settings.  Hope this helps at night.  thanks again!

So for posterity's sake, this is what the relevant screens and icons look like on the iOS Go 4 app. First shows general settings where you enable manual focusing, second shows the screen still in autofocus mode -- notice Peak Focusing red outlines, third shows manual focus in operation with the new slider. You toggle focus modes by tapping on the AF/MF icon to the left of the AE Lock icon.
