I read the manual and watched videos on updating firmware using DJI GO app, or, DJI Assistant, but I am unclear about how batteries, especially spare batteries get firmware updates. Does the aircraft update the battery firmware when you change batteries no having current firmware. Appreciate any clarification. If I missed this somewhere, would appreciate if you can point me to where the info is located. I did see a thread about Inspire batteries but not sure they applied to the Mavic (said leave the FW on the SD card...) Thanks in advance.

At the start of the quad the software will warn you for the firmware mismatch between accessories and wait for your confirmation to update them or not...All this happening when the new battery it is installed on the quad.

Or... From the DJI Assonant 2, after you update the Mavic, power it down, switch to the next battery and power up.  You'll get a message to update the battery.  Then just do it for all the batteries you have left.  I personally have much better response from DJI Assistant 2 then going through the phone.

I am having trouble getting my spare batteries updated also. I did my update, then changed to one of my spare batteries, but nothing happens.

I believe only some firmware updates require updates for the batteries. When updating to 0.500 none of my batteries required updating. Could DJI confirm this?

Let's freshen this topic.... I upgraded my mavic to firmware .08 today with one battery in it.  When I flew with that battery, and 2 others, no messages whatsoever about 2 batteries needing to be upgraded.  Like Boostedford said, IDK why...

Mine asked for my second battery to be updated when I plugged it in.

Mine told me to upgrade all four batteries as i swapped them round.  Had just upgraded to .800.  

2 B-New battery, Plug and play ....OEM FW .400.
