Yes you are well prepared for the most situations if you have a set of PL+ND4+ND8 Filter.

And ND16 for REALLY bright days, right?

Was the footage overexposed? Normally you will get a good feeling when to use which Filter after a few times using

Share the OPs views on ND filters and any drone....next to extra batteries, a set of Neutral Density filters may be the most important accessory you buy for your drone.
And because you bought your drone to shoot video and photos ND filters will have THE most significant impact on your results over any other accessory. http://bit.ly/2m3v9WW

I bought a 5 set pack of the taco RC filters and was wondering about the UV filter.  Is this considered a Polarized filter?
BTW i bought it direct from Taco and saved almost 10$

I had them at the time I wrote this, sorry for the confusion.  I was able to try one for just a little while but I haven't had time to download the video from the Mavic.  I didn't take a lot of time to work with the settings but I will have the time this weekend for sure.  I am heading to the lake where I plan to do most of my flying so it will be good to work it out in that setting.I had no problems with gimball load at any time either.  These are the new PolarPro that are bronze color which is why I had to wait a bit for them to arrive.  No complaints on the wait time though.

No not yet.  I need to figure out all of that.  Videos have been getting better but need some good direction.  Do you know of any place that will list best settings for different conditions using ND filters?  That is what I really need.

We have a filter calculator app which will help determine which filter to use for each flight:

Hope that helps!

Yes!  I did see that.  There was a card in my filter pack which was a nice piece BTW.  I downloaded it right away.  Maybe that is all I need to do is just follow that for the most part.

So I am pretty sure I know the answer already but wanted to hear what your thoughts are about ND filters for still photos vs video. Do you really want to use an ND filter and slow the shutter speed down so slow that any moving object (i.e. car, animal, person running etc...) will end up as a blur on the screen?

Depends what look you are trying to get.
Here are some great examples of getting long exposure. I generally find photographers have a lot more understanding of ND filters than the average droner, and the advice is tested and proven.

My first Drone Mavic just arrived this week and it´s great fun to fly with it. A friend told me about the ND Filter and now after reading your Guide I understand why to use them.
My ordered Filter will arrive next week and im already excited to try them at nice weather. I just have a few questions about the Settings.
Do I have to use manual settings? What settings do you recommend and do I have to edit the footage to get a professional looking quality?

Responding to your first question, you shouldn´t fly in auto mode while using the filter.

PGY-Tech.

This is another ND vendor.  They are out of China.  The only downside I've heard of these filters is that they take a long time to reach US destinations....

I don't know their history, but they've been around since I started looking at Mavic and accessories, which has been for several months now.

PGY Tech Website

PGY Mavic Filters Page

Their website shows the accessories they manufacture for the Mavic, but there is not yet a Mavic page under the Products menu.

I've read people like these filters, but their only complaint was it took a long time to receive from China after placing an order.  Much like anything else shipped from China........
