Yes, this has happened to me several times in places with no GPS.  Started drifting and lost right stick control, I had to switch to sports mode to regain control.  Not sure why but there was also only slight wind, it just sometimes gets erratic when no GPS signal.

I'm not sure, maybe it switches the VPS off?

Same situation happened to me yesterday.
