Just curious what everyone prefers for resolution/FPS while recording video on their Mavic and why:

1: 4K 4096x2160 24fps
2: UHD 4K 3840x2160 30fps
3: UHD 4K 3840x2160 24fps
4: 2.7K @30fps
5: 2.7k @ 24fps
6:  HD 1920x1080 and under

For me personally, with the bitrate/smoothness factor, I'm going with #2

I like 2 {:4_169:}

Think you forgot 2.7k @ 24 and 30. No point in 1080 really. Try 2.7k @ 24, it does look at bit better but lower res. Kind of a toss up. I'm still not sure what is better.

Ack you're right, adding now!

1. is great but huge files. 2, is the best I have found for smoothness. 3. 25fps not 24fps.

Pretty sure pal is 24 and ntsc is 29.97

I'm using 4. Quality is great and files are a bit easier to handle.

if i am editing and open a new file at 1080 30fps
wouldn't it be best to just film at those settings ?

wouldn't a 4k file just get compressed and lose the extra detail if the project file was 1080, 30 ?

It records at higher bitrate at the higher resolution, also there is he option to digitally crop in to the frame and still get a good 1080p though I've only done that a couple of times.
It does look good at 2.7K, but being used to 4K from the P3Pro I've decided to to stick with the 3840x2160

I'm using 3 (UHD@24) as a default but will to try others once I get more confidence in actually flying

Having a higher resolution base to work with then downscaling to a lower format like HD will also yield sharper results instantly without having to add any sharpening filter.

I'm a number 4.  In UK so must set to NTSC (not PAL) to get 30FPS
