I'd be a bit concerned about heat issues being that the drone is just stagnate in 1 spot with no airflow.

This is essentially replacing the battery as well by providing a different power source. Any crashes caused by it would be voided real quick.

Thanks for sharing, I have seen this before and 3DR has some options to do this type of remote power.

All the best

At first glance this seems a good product.  However, it would have to have great deal of power lead and also running the Inspire for longs periods continuously will probably cause the engines to burn out as they will overheat.  If the tethers also get taught at some point it could cause the aircraft to brake and apply undue stress.  So on the whole not a good idea.

I think the best option would be for DJI to build some super graphene batteries that would provide power for up to 60minutes at a time.

Hi GB44, let's have some fun and do some simple math (not my favorite subject) so we will keep it simple. DJI charges $200 for a 20 minute battery, now at 60 minutes x 3 times 20 minutes we are talking about a $600, dollar battery! Now thats a battery mate!  Ken.

dont' forget 20 mins on Inspire 2 is 2 battery's.
So double it! $1200
