Drones are not illegal in India. As of now, foreigners are not allowed to fly drones in India, and there is a set of regulations that the Govt has issued w.e.f 1st Jan 2019 for Indians. Adhering to those in current form, seems impossible a task... But I hope there will be amendments and adherence to meet somewhere in between.
