On a recent flight, for no apparent reason, I lost RF connectivity which initiated a return to home at ~ 1,100ft down range (LOS, clear weather, KP=3, GPS=11, GPS mode). I was able to reestablish connectivity and cancel the RTH but I was a bit surprised given I've not had the problem before on longer flights.

I have read several different articles on the correct orientation of the stock RF antenna (parallel - pointing towards the aircraft, perpendicular - flat, etc.). Can I get some real-world experience and advice? At this time I have no plans on upgrading the antenna systems.

The strongest part of the antenna signal comes from the sides.  90 being the end of the antenna

Thanks Gerry. This is what I've been relying on thus far. You seem to confirm the correct orientation.
