The most frustrating and unacceptable issue I’ve encountered with my Inspire 1 RAW is the unreliable connection
between phone and device. It is a cumbersome process to connect at the best of times, but on far too a regular basis,

the camera will seem connected (I have controls on my slave remote), but there will be no video feed visible in the app.

The app says "no image transmission signal".









To solve this you must reset everything and start again. So far I have not discovered a pattern to when this does and doesn’t work.

This becomes infuriating when the shot is ready to capture, and the camera simply cannot function because of this.



Does anyone know how to fix this? Already re-installed the DJI GO app. Tried different apple cables and

everything is running on the latest firmware. I even went to my local DJI center but they didn't found the problem.



I'm using my iPhone 6S iOS 10.2.1 and DJI GO app 3.1.2 (If I try an iPad with the old iOS and with the old DJI GO app everything works like a charm).

Often, especially when people are using the channel hack, will set it to a seemingly un-busy channel thinking that is the way to go, but I have found that leaving it in auto is the way to go.

Of course, and this was a while back, there was the case when the firmware update was giving everybody connection issues and the fix that worked I found and I was collecting data on it was to clear the cache on the GoApp, and I mean the cache on the front scrreen before you reach camera mode (that way you are clearing the knowledge of the firmware of the GoApp and then you force it to relearn it).  This was an old issue but maybe it will help.

1. Back up your pad or phone device.

2. Delete cache on main screen of GoApp.

3. Reset the device and make sure you are at the firmware you want to be on.

4.  Restore FROM itunes on a hard connect to iTunes

5. Next time you start the GoApp the firmware cache will be reset to the firmware you are on. (Sometimes it for whatever reason, doesn't update the text file that tells the RC what firmware you are at on the bird) and I believe this has casued those disconnect issue.

Again, I might be giving you old news to a new problem but this has always worked for me whenever I was having connection issues.

After that, with my P4 anyway, once I found the firmware and app version (and iOS version) that all played nice together, I left it alone and didn't upgrade firmware.

I'm telling you, I was having the same problem over and over and I was doing the reset a bunch of diffeent ways but if memory serves and you can look up my old posts if you want, but this mehtod above (assuming I am leaving nothing out) fixed the problem for A LOT of people.  I had narrowed down what lots of people were doing to one order of things that always worked and stayed working.

Apple iPad Air 2 with the latest iOS installed. It happend after I updated my Inspire 1 w/ X3 to the X5R. I discovered a pattern. If I take another iPhone it will work 4 times and after the 5th time I get the "image transmission signal" error again. So I'm guessing it's 100% a bug in the app or firmware?

When you did the test, did you just keep power cyclling  the aircraft and RC or did you switch them during flights? I just want to establish whether the aircraft or the mobile device is getting overly warm in the process.

Switched them during flights. Aircraft, RC and iPhone were not overheated.

I'll have the Development team take a look at this to see what they can come up with. So just that I'm clear, once you reach the 5th battery swap it will the gimbal disconnect message will not go away and it will not re-establish FPV after another battery swap attempt, is that correct. I'm assuming you have to wait a while for the connection to come back to start over?

That's correct DJI-Jamie. When I get the "image transmission signal" error for the 5th time. I take my other iPhone and that works again for 4 times. After the 5th time the "image transmission signal" error pops up so I have to switch phones again in order to fly properly.

Inspire 1 - No live video feed

My Inspire works perfect in every way possible. Just no live feed.
I am running all the latest updates on RC and Camera and Inspire.  
I have full control over the camera during flight, just no image on the app.
I have flown by using Satellite image and flight path only.
The pics and video are on the SD card and are perfect during playback on my computer.
No error readings at all. I have bound my Inspire controller to my Phantom 3 Pro, and have perfect video feed.
I have tried both my Samsung Galaxy s7 and Galaxy Tab 8. Both work fine with Inspire controller and the Phantom.
Just not with the Inspire. I have two controllers for my Inspire. I have no video feed with either, even if I swap them back and forth
to be the master.  

I bought my Inspire USED, but NEW.  It had never been flown until I got it. The props had never even been mounted.
According to the inspection sticker in the case it is about 2 years old - but again NEW.

ANY IDEAS?

I do not get the "No Image Transmission Signal" notice at all.
I believe the app and RC think that the signal is good.

Ok can you list on the "About"  tab al of the firmware that is on the system  ? be sure to have the entire system fired up or you will not get complete data .

Need AC FW, Camera , Go app, RC Fw.

More than likely you have a bad Camera module  that must be sent in for repair , I have seen this many times.  if you are on c current or at least compatible firmware and the No Image is on the go app.

Now to confirm this .  Load the current   FW on to a SD card and place back in the AC then let isa sit for a few minutes, we are not updating we are just getting data. Then read the data off the SD card.  If the hidden file on lines 0800 and 1500 say "device not detected " MUST go in for repair .  

Here is a link to view the hidden file .  Now if you happen to have the LAST update firmware on the SD card still you can just read that .

More than likely IF YOU ARE ON COMPATIBLE FIRMWARE  theses the problem and there is no fix for it , Must be sent in.

sample of device not detected , ( the log you want will be at the very bottom of the LOG , that will be the most recent update pf the AC.). this is from update 1.3 and is used for example of what the log will look similar to , most improtant are lines 0800. ( the Encoder on the Camera ) and 1500 the USB for transmitting live video , Most times it is the Encoder on the  Camera that must be relashed or repalced if broken .

Have you figured out this issue? I'm having the same problem!

Yes , you could but a new camera as 95% of the time the failure is on the encoder which is in the camera .  I can tell you confidently that there is NO fix for this.    You  could send it in for repair if out of warrenty .  It can run between 100 US dollars or 400 US dollars , the lower price is if the camera is just corrupted and the 400 price is for a  the new module .  You may find a used camera on e bay for around 350 US dollars .

I see you have rolled back and try to keep updating , sorry but it will not work , good effort though.  Wish I had better news for you .
also thanks for the "about " tab info .  this shows it is not a in compatible firmware issue and is indeed a broken or corrupted video encoder module ....( More than likely ) 95% chance  it is .  Not My first rodeo . Like I say , wish I had better news  for you .  At least you know .
***The "encoder" module that fails (95% of the time it is the "encoder" in the camara ) is inside the camera and dji does not sell this part as it needs to be programmed when it is installed , so in other word you cant get this part from anyone.
**** Encoder is sometimes called the "Video Module " as well but "Air Encoder " is the real name of it . See the >png below for what the code lines mean.  When thess cant be detected , they cant be fixed unless by DJI or repair facility approved by them , they have the proprietary equipment to"re -flash"  corrupted modules or replace them .

Honestly, I don't mind buying a new camera, as long as that is the fix.  A new camera is around 450.
and if the repair is possible up to 400.00 ..... why take the chance... just go new. I bought the inspire for 900.00 with zero flights on it and it came with 2 batteries. so I am still in the good..as far as the $ goes

Donnie... would you know if by chance the Osmo kit is the same camera or will it work with my inspire?  
Osmo kits are around the same price as the x3 camera and of course come with the handle and extras... seems worth the purchase to be able to use it with my drone and as a handheld camcorder.

No , the black camera that looks like the X3 will NOT work with the Inspire .  NOW the Inspire X3  camera will work with the Osmo, just  not the other way around .


**** I cant guarantee that the "encoder " on the camera is the problem ....BUT like I say , most times with the members I have spoke with it was the problem.So I would say 90% chance  it is the camera . Put it to you this way, I have never seen nor heard  the AC USB being the fault when you have the "Device Not Detected" on lines 0800 and 1500 .   I would do the exact same thing If I were You  and jsut replace the camera , Pehraps you could sell the camera On e bay with the Disclamer that the Live Video does not work and get at least 100 dollars for it  ( Maybe more ???).... I would think .

Just a thought. I would sell you my X5 camera if interested for $ 1,100 dollars if interested .  It is mint condition and only has a few flights on it .  It sells new on DJI for $1795 ( someting around here ). I have the DJI stock lens  and will give you a free Hoya filter.  You would nned to get extensions for the landing gear and if you dont have the X5 vibration board that most have ( not sure on  yours ). it would cost about $100 dollars for that .

You will Not find a better price on e bay and I guarantee it will work or give you your Money back .

Not sure how skilled a pilot you are or if you are going into this  for $$$$$ .  If you have limited fLight experience then I would NOT get the X5 OR if your system does not come with the X5 vibration board as well since there was an imporvement to the Motors as well to help with the extra pwer needed for the X5.

Just thought I would throw that out there for thought .   I am going to be putting it on E bay soon

I am afraid to do this.. because that is what killed my last one.

One thing to consider is there are thousands of AC loaded with new Fw  with No problems .  You of course are only going to see the problems on forums like this .  I personally have never had and issue .  

I would say go ahead and update the camera  Just be sure to do a few things .

Make sure battery fully charged on the AC

Make sure the RC transmitter is OFF during the update

After  the update is complete, delete or just keep the Sd card off to the Side for updating only .  You dont want to fire up the system with the SD card loaded with Fw on it .  

I would be sure to format the Sd card on the Ac, then load the ( SD card )  FW Bin file with the current FW.

Make sure when you go to the downloads page that you pick the Correct FW and camera ,  since you have the X3 camera it will default to that FW, Just make sure you are on the Inspire 1 downloads page .

Be sure to read the Result Log after the update is finished on the SD card , this way you confirm "success " on the update .

Hey Guys  I think I got the same problem, Inspire 1 with X5 All Updated but No Live Vide to Ipad Mini 2 or Ipad 2..I've tried a few android devices no luck. Here's my log.

You have the same problem , lines of code ( 0800 and 1500 have Device Not Detected )  on the AC indicate a corrupted or broken " Encoder Module "  You will need to send at MINIMUM the camera in for repair .

Go to the Repair thread on the top of the page and request a RMA number.  I think the repair facility is in California if memory serves me correctly .

Explain the Error code on lines 0800 and 1500  and then they may want only the camera OR they may want the whole system .

Pretty funny right? I'm having tons of nonstop issues, to the point that I TRY NOT TO fly the Inspire I have a ton of money into, but he gets it fixed and doesn't share the fix.

Last night I had to reboot my I1 4 times before it had image transmission 4th time using Litchi, I did re install the lens every time as I had switched from the Oly zoom so not totally sure if getting away from Go was the getter or if the lens was just not sitting right. I'm leaning towards the first. 3rd time I got image with go but it was broken and had non stop warnings, with litchi none of the above, behaved rock solid.
