I contacted the manufacturer and they said they couldn't guarantee fitment, but they always say stuff like that...

If every inventor was put off every time they were told something couldn't be done then we wouldn't have the chia pet.

I was thinking the same thing!! LOL Think ill wait till they are cloned! Well they will still be coming from China!

Since Mavic is not so much an explicit aerodynamic shape the influence might be only small. Maybe 2-3 minutes less flight time per batt.

I wouldn't worry about flight time.  Stability in the wind would be the issue, especially because the wind is seldom steady, but is constantly fluctuating and sometimes from different directions.  In other words, the ability to hold station would be affected.

Note that this "prop guard" (much cheaper) has also appears in the store - OOS though - and this would be much more comparable to 4rd party products: http://store.dji.com/product/mavic-propeller-guard

I love it; no chance of a Mavic crashing while it has those attached.

Approximate flight time when in use: 0 minutes.

Of course  the Mavic is capable to crash even with the prop cage. Just wait and see. More weight hitting ground

How about this: Rhino Indestructo Travel Trunk

I'm guessing the cage is especially useful for inside flights, especially if people are involved, and lots of opportunity to snap a prop.

I would grab these but really cannot justify the cost. Give it 2 weeks and there will be similar ones on eBay at a fraction of the cost.

Wonder why it does not even appear under the accessories section though. Wonder if they did this to simply push out the more expensive ones first.
EDIT: apologies, they were not visible a short while back but are again now....

with this cage you could do some flying/filming that you are not able to do without them. 2 examples:
1. flying through the midst of tall grass- where mavic pushes the grass apart. or pushing apart light curtains indoors.
2. safely flying amidst guests at a wedding or any other event. without the cage a client would be weary of hiring you.

some of you are missing the point.
Sure, props are cheaper, but if the Mavic falls out of the sky (and possibly hits someone) as Im flying within inches of the Stratosphere in Vegas because the props made contact with the structure...
