Hi, was out flying my p4p today in perfect weather. Had 1-2 m/s winds and 0degrees celsius, all seemed good. Was filming some mountains, flying in P mode. First flights of the day seemed like they were turning out nicly, but when i got home and watched my footage it was all wobbly and unusable. My only guess is that i was shooting without a nd and my shutterspeed was at about 1/200th, but never had my footage turning out that badly, even in higher wind.
Then later in the day i was flying with everything working as excpected for about 10minutes, then i get the warning (IMU)heading exception (In flight) (Using), the quad startet drifting around, while trying to fly the p4p closer towards me, i lost gps even though i had 17 satelites. Managed to land just fine, but im still wondering what happened here?

The phantom is running latest firmware. I had one issue with it before when i got compass calibration issue mid flight and loosing gps signal, with similar drifting as i got today.

Here is a video of what happenend.

Not that I'm aware of. It was high up in the air, with no trees or anything else around it.

Might be just a prop. I would check your IMU levels in the app .

How would a prop affect GPS though?

It wouldn't , just in the video at 48sec I could something in the left hand corner just right before you started getting warnings, it was probably only a prop, nothing to worry about

Had the same thing on my flights during the past few days, P4Pro, latest firmware, 0 to +5 Celsius and very very light wind. IMU / compass calibrations done, P-mode, 15-17 satellites. Warning  "(IMU)heading exception (In flight) (Using)" pops up many times during a simple flight on 10-30m altitude, wide open area. Curious to learn what it is about.

I actually had the same thing happen to me today...it's the reason I made an account.

I'm an experienced drone pilot and never had any issues with my P3P. On my maiden P4P flight, I lost satellite, IMU, and GPS and the drone started to flyaway.

Flight logs here - http://healthydrones.com/main?share=EgcLDn

I'm not flying again until I figure out what's going on.

I also had the same exact thing happen on my last flight a few days ago...fairly freaky -- same conditions, same everything (model, firmware, calibrations).  In addition to calibrating the IMU just before this flight, I also calibrated the sensors using the DJI Assistant 2 software for Mac...which I had seen suggested in a different threat with people experiencing drifting altitudes (which I had been experiencing occasionally).

Anyone have any updates on this?  Has this problem continued or disappeared for anyone?  I just got this P4P about a week and a half ago, so I don't know when the current firmware was released...but I was prompted to update it before my first flight.  If the firmware was recently released, could this be a firmware issue?

Anyone from DJI reading this?

I'm having the same issues too with a brand new P4P, a few seconds after launch.
My friend flew her Mavic with me and didn't have any issues, so it's not related to the K-index or environment.

Had the same issue with my P4P on it's 5th flight. When this happened it went out of control until I placed it in atti mode. Sent it in and they replaced it with a new one... Not reassuring at all.

How is the replacement doing?  I may just return the one that I have then.

I have only 5-6 flights on this one. To early to tell.

I had the same thing happen on my regular P4. It lost 10ft of altitude when it happened too. Hasn't happened in the last two weeks though. Didn't crash so I'm happy.
