Does any put the plastic gimbal guard back on for travel.  It was kind of a pain to get off and I imagine it's equally painful to put back on.  As fragile as the gimbal mechanism is, I don't know which is the greater risk--traveling with it off or on.

Thanks.

The more you do it, the easier it gets.  I would put it on for travel.

Yes, put it on. Which guard do you have?

Post a pic of it...

Ok, that one. & so you have trouble removing and replacing it?
Let me post a decent video, demonstrating the best way to apply this gimbal guard.

Hang on a moment, while I retrieve it for you...

Ok, here you go..

And another pilots method.

You have two options, sand this one down where it feels tight or you can buy a aftermarket one, there's a few to chose from.
Here's the one I use. https://www.amazon.com/gp/produc ... 8_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

No sanding needed, just learn to apply it correctly.

Besides, you want it to remain snug fitting. ;-)

Sure you may "choose" a different design, but meanwhile the OEM DJI guard works fine.

I use one of these, has the advantage of both holding the gimbal steady and covering the lens.. and a lot easier to take on and off.

Got it,
The second video was great.  I played with it and have it figured out now.  It is snug, but once you get the alignment correct, it works just fine.  Thanks for all the help.

+1 on that, mine as seen above is similar to yours. Like it much better than stock, and as you say have double function.

Ok, bro, that's very good news. Glad it has helped you replacing it.

I know many of us struggled with that thing in the beginning.

But once you have the knack, it goes on quite easy. Enjoy... ;-)

When I first got my Phantom 3 Pro, my guard was at the bottom of the shipping box...

Perhaps they had the exact same difficulty you experienced. Haha

Yup, same here, but it is tight around the camera.

Thanks to my forum friend @Rigworker, for giving it to me...

I have one of those gimbel camera holder things I got. It's faster to put on than the plastic thing, and has more protection against little bumps here and there.

I use the one that came with my P4 Pro, and I also use the foam insert on the neck. I also have a long purple piece of fabric attached to the gimbal guard so that I don't forget to remove the gimbal guard.
