Just wondering if there is any difference between the two. Is one more up-to-date than the other? I donwloaded it from DJI and the Academy module is missing for the Mavic. I think I've read something somewhere on this forum about different versions.

If the app needs updating it will promp you or you can check it on the update. Latest version for IOS is 4.0.2

No, I didn't.  There is an academy module for the Inspire, but not for the Mavic.
