My recent experiences from Thailand compiled into a 2 1/2 minute video, also had the oportunity to bring my sturdy old P3A along for some drone shots..!
The rest is shot with a Sony A6000.

The tone and pace were perfect for this short video.  I particularly liked your edits with the zooms and speed changes.

Fantastic!  Well done!

Thanks alot ! I was actually afraid the pace would be a little too much, but I think it fits well with the music, and you also want to show alot of interesting stuff within the timeframe

I know its not new exactly, but its my first time experimenting with these types of transitions and I think it works pretty well in some places..!

Thanks again for your feedback !

Thank you! Actually its all shot handheld with the Sony A6000, however I did use warp stabilizer in post on some of the clips.

Thanks! No not really, except one occasion where I was approaced by supposedly a park ranger/keeper, he didnt speak english very well but basically I was not allowed to fly there and had to land.
This was on Bamboo Island, which I think is a nature reserve, so maybe there are some special rules, I didnt check beforehand, so my bad..!

chrisnorway:

What a beautiful collage, covering all (well, most) aspects of your vacation. I particularly liked the food preparation shots, interspersed throughout, and the slow pull into your girlfriend under the shading. Great work. Two questions:

Did the use of the warp stabilizer crop too much of the original images? I've found that sometimes it can take away almost a 1/3 of the original shot.

How did you accomplish the push-pull image(mountains receding while quad advancing) at 1:47?
This is usually done with a zoom out, while dollying in (or vice versa), but the P3A doesn't have zoom capability, so...

Thanks for sharing.

Keep Smiling,

Augustus

Yes warp stabilizer sometimes crops the image, but mostly because the original shot is very unstable, and changes much throughout the scene. So it works best if your clips are pretty stable to begin with. However you can try to change the setting from 50% (default), to a lower number, like 15 or 10%, that tends to reduce the cropping.

The 'push-pull' or vertigo effect is pretty easy to achive, the P3A shoots in 2.7k max, so its only a matter of changing the size of the image using keyframes, from one point to the other. If you shoot 4k you have even more room to play with this kind of effect.

I hope this helps, and thanks again for commenting!

Thanks for sharing that video, and extra thanks for the explanation of how to do the zoom/vertigo effect. Just for reference what software are you using for editing?
