Has anyone any clues why I might have got this message ?  '' Propulsion is limited to ensure the health of the battery''

I believe that message is for when you are at the latter half of your flight and you are flying aggressively - which promotes voltage lag and sudden battery shut-down.  The firmware won't let you fly aggressively and the message is explaining why.

Is it new or older lipo - do you use www.healthdrones.com to see if the lipo is poorly?

It's not an old battery but it was a very short test flight which started with the battery on 60%.
I'll start  on a full battery in future and see how it goes.
Thanks for the help chaps.

you should have maybe flown on 100% battery on everything on the first flight.

You got lucky this time.  You really need a fully charged battery before launch, regardless of the length of the flight.  For example, a five second flight requires a fully charged battery.  Anything less and you're tempting fate.  Hope this helps.

Perhaps the battery was getting low, or even cold...

Always keep an eye on the battery cells when you strat and during flight. Always battery temp should be around 25 to 28C in cold or warm weather. Cold let it hover for a minute or so until temperature rises.

Never have sex on an empty stomach and NEVER fly with half aaaaaa...

No body surfing for an hour after eating.

Depending on the delightful delicacy at hand, of course. ;-)

It means that the aircraft has detected a quite high current drain from the battery, perhaps an agressive move, and has decided to limit the power output in order to prevent the aircraft from falling out of the sky. Despite the message, it is actually protecting your aircraft, not the battery. This can also happen in very cold weather.

My iPad Air2 will flunk out before the intelligent flight battery does, in the cold.

Hi, this message is not very well worded, it can be confusing to understand the meaning, As said in above posts, there is nothing wrong, all it does is limits propulsion on higher throttle inputs, this just protects the aircraft, you will get this if you are carrying a lot of weight on the air craft for example using the Inspire 1 and a large camera this can trigger this message, also if its cold whether, this is more probable with the phantom range, to trigger this error message.
