So  my mavic was airborne today about 5 minutes and the firmware update splash screen popped up on my ipad mini and took up the whole screen.  My question is how did that happen.  I have a mini 4 with cellular but I dont subscribe to any service and it wasnt tethered to my cell phone and I wasnt connected to wifi.  How does a firmware update get to my ipad without cellular?  Thanks.

How sure can you be that you didn't catch an open wifi access point where you were flying?

Doesn't seem very good UI design to pop up such an alert during flight, especially dull-screen.

Pretty sure.  Ipad was one day old and I havent any wifi stored in memory except my home. Unless it picked up an xfinity signal and auto connected...

Aeroplane mode switches off wifi so no stray hookups
