It's too bad that these mods make the mavic ugly. It s such a pretty machine.

Based on the video, I believe the LED lights up after you've powered on the MAvic, IMU initialization has occurred, etc. THEN once all systems are ready, you connect the aux battery prior to liftoff.   Note the range the guy in china obtained in the video posted in this thread.  I didnt see his mavic dramatically "fall from the sky".

Admittedly this type of mod isnt for the skittish.  It's for those looking to push the boundaries/limits.

How the heck does one manage that kind of range though? 9 km and all those buildings around? Still good and solid signal!!

What do you mean fall from the sky???
I have this set up and also the antenna modd that tony sells .
you trun on your mavic ,then you plug in you 2 other batteries,
and you off .....at this point, it would take 3 batteries to fail, before
it fell out of the sky......

Can you let me know which batteries you have added?
Also, do the additional batteries simply allow the main battery to discharge at a much slower rate when flying? Or does the mavic use up the aux batteries first..then the main battery kicks in?
Also, how is the DJI GO battery meter affected by the additional batteries?

I'am using 2 thunder power prolite 910 mah 3 cell, each weigh  69 grams.
they all discharge simultaneously when turned on...

all that for about 6mins?  the avg flight time on the Mavic battery is 21-27 mins

Ive never gotten a FULL 27 minutes flight time from a mavic battery.
And even if its 6 minutes more, thats ~ 20% increase in flight time.
