It came from Simon's Kitchen Table and yeah, I'm trying to drive traffic to my channel.  Do you have an issue with this?

A racing drone maybe?  I think it is just the ESCs and the boards though.  I don't think they would release a full fledged racing drone.  I could be wrong.

On second and closer look, it's almost definitely an I2. Strange and interesting timed with the racing drone. Confused.

It would appear they are going to be announcing the racers but it became pretty obvious that the picture in the teaser was a Inspire Pro so I took down the video, someone had already guessed on the video a quad 250-280 racer before I took it down and I am sending that person phantom 3 prop guards. I took down the video because I didn't realize it was definitely an I2 in the shot. Probably an all black one. Maybe they'll announce the racers but the teaser was too ambiguous although plenty of discussion about it on Simon's. I wish I had left it up actually. Oh well.

A day late and a dollar short. ;-)

It would appear that someone on PhantomPilots brought up a pretty good point.

It may very well be an I2 but something doesn't add up.

The LED in the I2 near the prop is clear and has a gray border while the teaser simply doesn't and it is also missing an essential part of the prop lock.  This  might just be a marketing ploy, and if so, clever one if not dishonest but these are not the same images.

LED is black, no gray border, missing the prop lock at the top.


I could explain the difference but I won't insult your eyes.

Where is the prop lock?


I am not saying it's not the I2, but if it is, it's a little deceptive marketing to draw attention.  Either way, I am interested to find out what the heck this is because it's not a standard I2.

You gotta love a tease...

The more I am thinking about it, I think that is not an LED. I think  it's a button and for releasing the prop.

I am on the record thinking it is the Phantom 5 or something brand new. I have no idea really but it's something.

Yes, drones should always be available in a variety of popular colours.

My only concern, is finding a black or dark shaded drone, if lost, in the sky, or in the event of a crash.

Bright or white is always much more capable of being seen, higher visibility.
But you can always add some LED diodes, for a better visibility, particularly when VLOS is a strong consideration.

I often considered retracted landing gear here, & fear "what if" those  gear getting fouled up, and having to land on the camera.
Atleast you could record it all in a 360* view. ;-)
