Hello again!

Come here with another example of watching my buddy lose control of his P3S. I caught it on video from my P3S as well as his if anyone wants to see comical reactions and sketchy landings. In fact I think I have enough video to make a HOWNOT training tape.

So! I think we were just outside the 20m RTH threshold when his battery hit the critical mark. He was only 3' from the ground when it decided it was a good time to go home. The problem was it was not a safe area with trees. He managed to aggressively alter course to keep it down, but it was not a smooth landing at all.

Is there any quick method to override RTH in such a situation?

Sure post the videos if you can. That would be comical cause I been there myself. Have now learned that when battery get to 20% it starts acting up so I have resorted to getting it on the ground when I hear the alarms at 30%

Thanks, must have missed that. I know I can cancel it that way if the user initiates it. I told him to try that, but in his panic probably didn't understand or hit the wrong one.

I bring 'er in as soon as the alarm starts going off. I have yet to have an automated RTH scenario. I'm learning by all his mistakes

Manual? Who has time to RTFM    Whenever I try RTH my drone tries to exit the atmosphere.

FYI, when the battery reaches the critical low level, it will not RTH. It just auto lands at its current location.

No need to toggle it back and forth, I just switch S1 to A which make it stop and hover but I'm normally in P mode.

I am flying out over a bunch of trees in my backyard and going for max distance. I have gotten 3235 feet which is close to the 1000m and letting it RTH. As you can see I'm real close to reaching a lake near me. Think I may try those slip on range booster to see if I can get there

Yup the Go app crashed on my phone and RC lost signal.
No problem as I was already in RTH mode and she flew back by herself.  I was a wee bit nervous but eventually I could hear the drone.

When it was above me I started up the RC and the app and manually landed.  However my home point was set over a thousand feet in the air lol
Also not an issue as the last known point is from the lift off point and RTH set to that.

Just lost the last mile on the mileage is all.

I have the argtek kit as well. Works very well when I'm in my wifi saturated neighborhood.

We have restrictions in some places like in Taipei City 60m max height.

Some tourist places droning is banned.

Gotta love the tech DJI has.
I've crashed mine first couple flights separating the camera which meant replacing all the cables going to the gimbal. I bought the parts and put her back together which meant a total open up and replace and she still fly like new including me trying the max distance on the stock. Waiting on landing gear now cause a minor crack has spread from the initial crash

Looking at the argtek but from utube videos the connecting the u.fl connectors looks to be a pain

Actually it's really easy to do the connectors on the Argtek.

I used a bright light to shine on the board to get the old glue off. Used a tiny flat bladed screwdriver and a pair of tweezers.  The connectors actually snap on so you can be sure they are on.  Then just a dab of hot glue to ensure they don't come off.  I know some people never glued them on have no issues.
