Saw this posted on Facebook a few days ago and ordered right away! It's freaking amazing, why doesn't dji sell something like this? My biggest concern was heat from the mavic, but when you switch to wifi mode and connect to the tablet it actually stays pretty cool. Filmed about an hours worth today and it's worked flawless. It locks In surprisingly well. This one was from LASdrones.com idk if there's other sources for it but it's definately a must have!

Wow that looks pretty sweet! I have been thinking about getting the Osmo, but this is a way cheaper solution!
Have a link to the product page?

Edit: Having found the product page i have some additional questions:
How sturdy is it? To me it doesn't like like it's that solid of a grab? If you happen to jolt upwards with it, how big are the odds of it dropping your Mavic?

rock solid!, i had a similar concern, but bought it anyways to review it and its more solid than i thought, it seems to click around the motors and the arms, when you lift it the weight is distributed to the back of the mavic though, not the arms. that was my concern and it looks like they solved it. the quality of it was really good, i snapped it on and shook my mavic in all angles i could think of over my bed to make sure there was no play or weak spots. (wouldn't recomend normally shaking a quad) lol

theres a switch on the mavic that will let you connect directly to a tablet through dji go through wifi. no remote or cables needed. gives you a live feed and camera controls. It was pretty simple actually. I can fit my full size ipad on it

Oh that's right; forgot about wifi mode because I'll never use it. Tried it on first Mavic & the lack of control is unsettling.

Where did you get the phone holder?  The link for the handle just dumps you off on your own for that.

You can get them on eBay, type in DJI part 45. This is how I bought one.

Another Karma killer accessory.  No need get the Karma for the gimbal mount and camera that comes with it.  Now the Mavic is both with these two accessories.

Doesn't having the Mavic on, with arms folded give you a compass error every time you do this?

I thought about this two, but that hasn't been an issue for me. Most of the heat generated from the mavic at idle is from the Ocusync transmission module (lightbridge) to the remote. However when your mavic is in wifi mode it doesn't use lightbridge communication to the remote. the wifi seems to stay much cooler than the normal mode. Still gets warm but i used it about an hour without any heat issues.

yep good remark...indeed transmission module it is an principal source of heat...

I just filmed some more sample footage of some railroad tracks and trees, its really unbelievable . Ill try to post it up tonight or tomorrow. No issues. not even compass error. i do get the yellow bar on the top that says safe to fly no gps. thats completely normal though, as the tablet is over top where the gps is. It doesn't affect usage at all though.  i also found that holding it out for 30 minutes wore my arm out. lol but i think thats any camera you try to hold out and film with for long periods of time

really nice 3 D print out. I thought that this would be a killer use of the WiFi feature of the Mavic and I'm sure DJI is going to come out with its own 'official mount' once its maxed out Osmo sales. This use of the Mavic is a no brainer and its stabilisation is better than that of an Osmo X3. Thanks for sharing

Interested in the footage myself. I've got an Osmo so I doubt I'd get use out of this but I am interested to see what type of footage you get from this.
