Use of the cerebral definition gave your post a Sybian. On your avatar... Hahaha
Or it may have been from describing age moving forward.

The system was trying to get snide with me.

True, but I believe Kneepuck has it. The 50+ age group has more disposable income, or at least, more ability or desire to re-prioritise to direct funds to our interests. Younger age groups are focussed on mortgage, schooling costs for kids, pushing money into super, etc

And OK, I'll mention the 'elephant in the room' - partners. I'm divorced so no-one to judge me. And my girlfriend likes flying my P4 while I'm flying the P4P, so all good...

Any tips on how to get a girl interested in drone?? "checkout my range?..."

I am 65 and cannot believe the lack of care with the DJI support.  I am so sorry I purchased this Phantom 4.  I did the update that was required, (so I thought at the time), to 0620 and screwed up my drone.  I've left numerous messages in the forum and went online with customer support.  Online support, was some child that spent more time putting me on hold (visiting with friends at work) than actually trying to understand my issue.  His answer in the first 3 minutes was the usb port is not working and to send the drone in for repair.  What??  I just purchased it a month ago.  Yep, that's the problem.  Anymore questions??  NO!
And my quest for help on this forum has been ignored for two months.  And then I read the Phantom 4 support is discontinued....  ARE YOU KIDDING ME, SPEND $ 2500.00 DOLLARS FOR A PROFESSIONAL DRONE FOR A MONTH, AND SUPPORT IS DISCONTINUED.  That totally makes me want to purchase more products from DJI.  I AM EXTREMELY UNHAPPY FOR THE WAY DJI SUPPORTS THEIR CUSTOMERS.
THIS LACK OF RESPONSE AND TOTAL LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM IS A TOTAL DISRESPECT OF YOUR CUSTOMERS.

Well, we certainly got off topic on that one, didn't we?

62 in June, version 3.5.0, 3 wives, 5 kids, 0 husbands. Radio ham since late 70s,falconer to exhibition level, rc boat builder(bait boats for carp fishing). Flying drones is a coming together of all these hobbies, although I never thought of marriage as a hobby!!

The drones are loyal as long as one maintain and preserve! Never heard of baitboats before, canyou provide some footage??

Granted, these units are supposed to have 18+ age restrictions on them. Of course, those seem to more "suggestive" when someone is willing to buy it for them.

Some bright youths are wise, far beyond their birthdate.

As well, many seniors have gone back to being much more juvenile.

What exactly does the Sybian over an avatar, as seen in sone posts, represent?

@DJI Ken was mentioning that he would look into this...

So far, nothing has been presented explaining that forum anomaly.

I've had odd things like that happen in general when I've kept a browser internet cache for too long and certain sites start to read things incorrectly. It may be something similar for here, but it would be speculative on my end.

AT 50, I have more years behind me than ahead of me.......and 50 aint the new 40, no way , nope, not a chance !  only a few parts still work like when i was 40 .  my p3s reminds me of  my body at 50, some days things work ok, other days.. not so well, and some days it refuses to do what i ask.

I'm sad. I'm 14 and have saved up to get a p3s since I was 10 years old and the phantom 1.1.1 came out. Kinda sad that not many people in the younger demographic have these machines. But then that's also a good thing because less restricted faa rules. Which side should I pick?

34. Granted there is a large pinch of socioeconomics at play - but I think there is also some nostalgia at play. My grandfather taught me how to build balsa wood aircraft. It was slow and methodical and required huge amounts of patience. He told me that if I built 50 of them, perfectly, he would buy me a remote control aircraft. Sadly, he died when I was around 12. When I got to my 50th aircraft some years later, I promised myself that one day I'd take to the skies in his honour. I had a dream of a 3/4 channel aircraft. I imagined that one day cameras would become miniaturised enough to be involved. Many years later, when drones came along, I was whipped back to this childhood dream, where all my aspirations for unmanned flight had come to fruition.

I'd imagine there are many similar stories in the 40-60 category.

My wife still says it's a toy and and I'm just playing. I think for many of us, it's much more than that. It's decades of imagination brought to life.

That's a beautiful story, and the rest well said. Thanks for sharing.  My father flew spitfires during the war and passed away a couple of decades ago now, but I know that he'd get a kick out of this hobby too. Once you've been into the sky I suspect you never leave...

I now have a P4 and P4P. Why? Because I can. :-)  It's handy to have the two, as my girlfriend gets to fly with me and she's really keen now. She actually hassles me to take the drones out now...
