Hi all, I'm thinking of getting a phablet to connect with mavic as it will provide a bigger screen and without draining my phone's battery... any recommendations? Deciding between IPad mini or huawei mediapad.. don't wanna pitch out too much since I'll just mostly use for the mavic only

I'm using the nvidia shield and its exceptional. Android os and fast. I have read some people have had issues with it but I have also read that about every device tbh. For the money it is very good and fit for purpose

I use IPad mini 3 and the only complaint I have is the glare.  I am working to solve that issue soon.

Google Nexus 7 works well so far for me.

those using tablets. Are you using stock controller to hold your tablet or are you using third party tablet holders sold on ebay, amazon, etc?

If I was buying a device specifically for the Mavic, it would be an iPad mini even though I'm not a fan of Apple as they seem to be more reliable and consistent than Android devices.  I'm using a Sony Z Ultra and a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and their performance is inconsistent, the Note 4 has crashed each time and the Z Ultra is generally ok but has had a few crashes.

Which Nexus 7 do you have? I have the 2012 16gb -1gb ram. I've seen the 2013 being recommend. But they don't have a big difference except the ram.

iPhone 7+ and never had a crash or issues with it.

I m using iPhone 6 Plus with no issue

Please tell me which other apps You are running on the Z Ultra and if You are using GO 3 or 4 (both installed or only either 3 OR 4 installed). I was running into probs with my Z Ultra lately with latest iteration of GO 4 and have almost no other apps installed on it but after latest update of GO 3 I also had a crash with GO 3 ..............

I do have the 2013 (MOB3OX).  Wish I had more storage space, but the 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB RAM, seems to be enough for the app.

Ipad mini 2

iPhone 6s plus, decent screen, never had problems. Drain battery life like crazy but that's expected.

iPad mini 4 with cell connection for GPS feature that I'm not sure what it does Flawless

Nothing else is running on the Z ultra, since I only use the phone for the Mavic I wiped it and only installed Go4 (Go3 is no longer compatible with the Mavic as of 3.1.3)

LG V20, nothing but problems

Lg v20 also airplane mode has been working without the crashes when I first got the phone. What issues are you having with the v20? I just updated firmware to 0500 and flew one battery with no problems. I also have an nvidia shield with a mavmount adapter from mavmount.com I haven't tried the shield yet since system and firmware update. I did like my note 4 way better than the lg v20 and wish I still had it. I'll never buy another lg phone, lousy camera and not the best quality. Even my note 2 was better.

Pixel XL.  Typical periodic app crashes with DJI Go 4.

Picked up one of these so I don't have to remove the phone from its case.  I may look into a small tablet down the road.

Using Samsung note 5, all Ok so far, thinking of buy a Samsung tab s2, but heard a few people are having issues with the dji go4 app on the s2

Using a Nexus 6P - crashes constantly, tried both the stock and beta versions of 7.xx (with the same results).  Has anyone had used a 6P without problems?  If so what was your solution?

Nvidia shield K1 for me. But i haven't yet upgraded to Android 7...

GO3 strangely still works for my mavic as well.

I'm using the Huawei Honor GEM-703L and has been great so far.  Fits in the controller.

I'm not sure what to suggest, I assume you have the phone up to date?  It's generally reasonably stable but the times it's crashed and gone wrong are unpredictable, I can't see anything I'm doing differently on those occasions.  I've been taking it easy since the last problems but I'm still split on whether to get an iPad Mini or not.  Aside from the fact I dislike Apple and have no need for the iPad aside from the Mavic the Z Ultra is a really good size and its USB port is out of the way on its side.

Keeps disconnecting. I think I might be on to something by turning airplane mode on then restarting the phone leaving it on airplane mode, then connecting.

was using a Sony Z3......crystal clear but to small for old eyes. Now got a iPad Mini 4 heeps way better and brings your confidence level up as well.

Is ANYONE  using an iPad Air 2 ?    I realize it would take a 3rd party adapter holder,  but have found several well constructed ones available.

I need to replace my wife's  iPad  which is about 5 years old and about to die.  As long as I'm replacing it,  may as well get something for dual usage!   She likes the larger size  rather than the mini  versions.

I guess  I would need to get one with wifi and CELLULAR  if I want the GPS feature  to allow for Track me   and  to land where the controller is located.....  correct?

I have a Nexus 6P with stock 7.1.1 and have given up on it due to all of the DJI Go 4 crashes and the ridiculous battery drain.

I've been using my 2013 Nexus 7 as it wasn't getting much use lately, so now it's dedicated to my Mavic RC. It's a very tight fit, so I just leave it in there for fear of cracking the display. The battery lasts a long time when it's plugged into the secondary USB port on the bottom middle of the RC.

Hopefully it lasts me until the CrystalSky becomes available.
